I support the services our Village provides, but they must be delivered without increasing the tax burden of our residents.
Comprehensive Plan
I support the creation of a Comprehensive Plan Committee to create a new and thorough Comprehensive Plan for the Village. I support hiring a professional group to lead citizens groups through the initial phases of the Comprehensive Plan.
Economic Development
I support the Economic partnership that has been established between the Village, Town, Chamber of Commerce, BID, and School District. However, I believe the Village Board must maintain oversight over monies given to this organzation and must have a clear idea of what its objectives are and reports as those objectives are met.
I support the continued efforts of our talented Village employees in attracting new businesses to the Village and remain committed to be involved in the Economic Development team as liaison to Village Hall and as Deputy Mayor.
I support the rehabilition of the northeast quadrant parking lot (the lot strentching from the rear of Smith Insurance to the lot adjacent to the Harmony House) in partnership with the Bauman development.
Village Water
I like Village water and support attempts to bottle and sell it. I also support exploring using our water for heat exchangers. I support listing the water rate on water bills.
Street Repairs
I support an accelerated schedule for residential street repair to keep our Village streets safe for our residents and their vehicles.
Parks and Recreation
I support the creation of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, the creation of recreation programs using our Village parks, and increased advertising of our parks and recreation programs to inform Village residents.
Police
I support our local Webster police. The cost of our police department is well known by our residents. But that cost is mitigated and in fact, over counterbalanced by the quick, local response time, the excellent community policing and the the strong relationship our officers have developed with so many in the community. Every two years, the residents of our Town vote on this issue, among others, when electing their Town Board Members. Candidates for or against the police are free to run in those elections. We do vote, people do run, and so far, the overwhleming evidence is that the residents of our Town and Village want a local police department.
